The Rule of even and odd means having an odd number of subjects in the image to create a more, natural and balanced image. Where as having an even number of subjects can create the impression of tension in the image.
The images above are examples of the rule of even and odd. The image on the left shows an even number of subjects in the image, this creates tension. Where as the image on the right, with an odd number of subjects, looks more natural and balanced.
